This fiesta was initiated by students of ATI, under the supervision of lecturers, in 1997 aimed at creating an enthusiastic spirit of competition among the tourism and hospitality industry players (i.e hotels, restaurants and tourism-related institutions/colleges) to showcase their talents in the respective fields and to expose the public to the high standards maintained in the industry. As of year 2006,this annual event was co-organized body by the state government that works with private and government sectors at integrating members hotels in view of re-energizing the hospitality and tourism industry of Malaysia.
